Hub carrier with gears 4475.205.085 ZF, aftermarket

For the backhoe loaders with ZF axles: hub carrier with gears 4475.205.085, an aftermarket part. This part is the hub carrier assembly complete with the planet gears.

If the wheel nuts are not tightened to the specified torque, the wheel studs in the carrier can work loose and elongate their holes, so the nut torque is checked regularly after the wheel is fitted. A carrier with elongated or cracked stud holes is not repaired but replaced. With a new carrier, check the condition of the studs and nuts too. The wheel nut torque is checked regularly.

Fitting

For the change, remove the wheel and drain the planetary gearbox oil. Renew the gasket or O-ring between the carrier and the axle casing and tighten the bolts to the specified torque in a cross pattern. Fill the planetary with oil of the type and quantity in the service manual; after refitting the wheel, torque the nuts and check them again after a short period of work. The part comes new; before fitting, check the planet pin bores, stud holes and gasket face. After the carrier is fitted, turn the wheel by hand to confirm the planetary turns without binding, then check the oil level at the plug hole with the wheel in the position the manual specifies.
