Differential friction disc 113883 is an aftermarket part for the backhoe loaders with Carraro axles. This part is a friction disc of the limited-slip differential (LSD).

Differential parts are supplied as a complete assembly, a casing, a planet and side gear set or friction discs. The level of repair is decided by the wear found on dismantling: if only the gears are worn the gear set is changed, and if the casing bores are worn the casing or the complete assembly is replaced. Parts are chosen by part number and axle type. At an oil change, inspect the metal on the drain plug.

Fitting

The differential is changed with the axle opened; because it affects the crown wheel and pinion setting, the work is done with measurements to the service manual. Set the differential bearing preload and the crown wheel backlash, check the contact pattern and torque and lock the crown wheel bolts. Renew the seals and gaskets and fill the axle with the specified oil type and quantity. The part comes new. Before the axle is reassembled, lubricate all parts with clean axle oil; refit the shims in their original positions or select them again by measurement.
