Circlip 24793 is an aftermarket part for the backhoe loaders with Carraro axles.

A circlip is a spring steel ring that sits in a groove on a shaft or in a housing bore and stops bearings, gears, washers and pins moving axially. In axles and gearboxes the location of planet gears, axle shafts and bearings depends on circlips. A stretched, distorted or wrong-thickness circlip can jump out of its groove, letting the part shift and causing serious mechanical damage.

Fitting

Circlips are not reused after removal, since stretching reduces their spring force. Fit the new circlip with suitable pliers without opening it more than necessary and check that it is fully seated in its groove. Fitting it with the sharp edge facing away from the load makes it hold better.
