The operator seat is where the operator spends the whole working day, and it directly affects productivity. A seat with mechanical suspension is adjusted for the operator's weight to damp shocks from the ground, while fore-and-aft and backrest adjustments and armrests reduce fatigue over long hours. On backhoe loaders the seat swivels between loader and backhoe work. A seat with failed suspension or torn upholstery leads to back pain and lapses of attention, and the seat belt anchorage also depends on the seat being sound. A seat adjusted to the operator's weight and height noticeably reduces strain on the back; the adjustment should be made whenever the operator changes.

Fitting

Remove the old seat after disconnecting the seat belt and electrical connectors. Bolt the new seat to the floor or swivel base to the specified torque, connect the seat belt and plug in the seat sensor. After fitting, check all the adjustments, the swivel lock and the seat belt, and set the suspension for the operator's weight.
