Hand throttle lever 910/60215 is a genuine JCB part for the JCB machines.

The hand throttle lever sets engine speed to a fixed value independently of the foot pedal. In backhoe work the operator's feet are free while the engine runs at a steady speed and the hydraulics get stable power. The lever is linked by a cable or rod to the fuel pump throttle lever, or on electronic engines to a position sensor. When its friction mechanism wears, the lever will not hold its position and the revs drop by themselves, and a broken lever means loss of throttle control. On some machines the same lever unit also includes the stabiliser (outrigger) controls.

Fitting

Before the change, stop the engine. Disconnect the lever's cable or connector and remove the mounting bolts. Fit the new lever, connect the cable and adjust its tension so the engine idles with the lever fully down and reaches full speed with it fully up. After assembly, run the engine and check that the lever holds its position and the revs are steady.
