Cab roof 400/R2305 JCB, aftermarket

Cab roof 400/R2305 is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines.

The cab roof is the panel or moulding that covers the top of the cab and protects the operator from rain, sun and small falling objects. It is usually made of glass-fibre reinforced plastic and may contain mountings for work lights, an interior light, air-conditioning ducts or a radio. A cracked or damaged roof lets rainwater into the cab, wets the electrical connections and spoils the interior trim. The roof does not replace the cab's ROPS/FOPS protective structure, but covers it to keep the cab sealed and tidy. It is chosen by part number for the cab type and machine model, and the second number on the card is a version of the same roof.

Fitting

Before the change, disconnect and mark the wiring of the lights and other equipment on the roof. Undo the old roof's bolts and lift it off carefully. Seat the new roof with a new seal or sealing tape, tighten the bolts evenly and reconnect the equipment. After fitting, run water over the roof with a hose to check it does not leak.
