Brake pipe, left 830/11660 JCB, aftermarket

For the JCB machines: brake pipe, left 830/11660, an aftermarket part. According to the product card, the pipe is for the left side.

Brake hoses and pipes differ in length, union type, thread size and routing, and left and right sides may use parts of different lengths. A hose of the wrong length stretches or rubs as the axle oscillates. The new part is routed like the old one, with its clips and protective sleeves refitted. After replacement the system must always be bled. When brake lines leak, the nearby hoses and harnesses are inspected too, as the leaking fluid gradually attacks rubber and plastic. The lines are routed clear of moving parts, the exhaust and sharp edges, which is what the original clip positions are for.

Fitting

Before removing the hose or pipe, clean around the unions, catch the fluid in a container and plug the open ends. Tighten the unions with a suitable spanner without cross-threading. After fitting, bleed the system and check the joints under pressure.
