For the JCB machines: steel brake disc 458/20285, an aftermarket part.

When a brake pack is repaired, the steel plates are measured for thickness and checked for flatness on a flat surface. Plates worn to the limit, blued or deeply scored are replaced, because renewing only the friction plates while keeping old steel plates can soon weaken the brake again. The plates differ in diameter, thickness and number of teeth to suit the axle and are chosen by part number. Before assembly the plates are soaked in axle oil. In oil-immersed brakes the type of axle oil also matters: if another oil is used instead of the specified one with its additives, the brakes squeal and the plates wear faster.
