For the JCB machines: brake accumulator adaptor 70150814, an aftermarket part. This part is not the accumulator itself but the adaptor that connects it to the line; the product card gives the connections as R1/2 UF and SAE O 7/8 UF.

The nitrogen pre-charge pressure falls over time. With less pressure the accumulator stores less oil, the low brake pressure warning comes on more often and fewer brake applications are available with the engine stopped. If the diaphragm tears, gas mixes with the oil and the accumulator no longer holds pressure. Brake accumulators are therefore checked at intervals, and the pre-charge pressure is measured with proper equipment. Accumulators are charged with nitrogen only, as using air or oxygen is dangerous.

Fitting
