Plastic stabiliser upper wear pad 331/20556 is an OEM part for the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders. According to the product card, this part is a stabiliser upper wear pad (plastic).

The pads and the rubbing surfaces of the inner section are kept clean and greased as the maker recommends, as sand and stone dust wear pads quickly. Knocking, jerky movement or visible play between sections show that the pads need checking. Pads at their wear limit are replaced before the metal surfaces are damaged. After new pads are fitted, the leg is fully extended and retracted a few times to check that it does not bind. The pads are inspected on the surfaces visible when the leg is fully extended, looking for cracks, uneven wear and missing fixings. The pad bolts are tightened to the specified torque and rechecked after the first hours of work.

Fitting

Before working on a stabiliser, park the machine on level ground, lower the legs to touch the ground, release the pressure and make the machine safe. After fitting the part, extend and retract the legs fully a few times, check the clearance and friction, and grease the slides and pins.
