Bonnet 128/G2288 JCB, aftermarket

For the JCB machines: bonnet 128/G2288, an aftermarket part. According to the product card, this part is a bonnet.

Bonnets and side panels differ by machine model and production period; they are chosen by part number and the hinge and latch points compared with the old part. When the bonnet is replaced, the gas struts, hinges, latch and rubber buffers are checked too. If the new bonnet is to be painted, it is primed before fitting and painted in the machine's colour. The bonnet hinges and latch wear over time: if the closed bonnet sits out of line or the latch holds poorly, the hinge and latch adjustment is checked first. If the gas struts do not hold the open bonnet securely, they are renewed, as a gust of wind can slam it shut. The bonnet is not stood on or loaded, as thin sheet or plastic bends easily.

Fitting
