Stabiliser slide pad 331-2489 CAT, aftermarket

For the Caterpillar backhoe loaders: stabiliser slide pad 331-2489, an aftermarket part. According to the product card, this part is a stabiliser slide pad.

Pads differ by position (upper, lower, side), machine model and material. Plastic pads give lower friction and are cheaper, while textolite pads, made of fabric-reinforced resin, stand up better to load and impact. Pads are usually replaced as a set, as changing one alone leads to uneven loading. If shims are fitted under the pads, the clearance is set to the maker's value. The pad fixing bolt heads must sit below the pad surface, as a protruding head scores the inner section. The material of the new pads should match the ones already fitted, so that the sections slide evenly.

Fitting
