HM380 breaker diaphragm 332/C7817 JCB, aftermarket

For the JCB hydraulic breakers: HM380 breaker diaphragm 332/C7817, an aftermarket part. According to the product card, this part is a breaker diaphragm for the HM380 breaker.

The diaphragm is chosen by part number for the breaker model and accumulator type. During replacement the inside of the accumulator body is inspected, as a sharp edge or corrosion will tear a new diaphragm too. After assembly the accumulator is charged with nitrogen only, to the maker's pressure, and the pressure is checked with a proper charging tool. When the diaphragm is replaced, the accumulator cover seal and charging valve are checked too. The nitrogen pressure in the accumulator is measured at intervals, as a fall in pressure reduces impact force and tires the diaphragm faster.

Fitting

Before working on the breaker, stop the machine, release the hydraulic pressure and lower the breaker to the ground in a stable position. If the nitrogen chamber is involved, release the gas pressure first as the maker instructs. After fitting the part, tighten the bolts to the specified torque, grease the tool bush and test the breaker briefly under light load.
