Mechanical quick hitch is an aftermarket part for the Caterpillar backhoe loaders. According to the product card, this part is a mechanical quick hitch.
A quick hitch is fitted to the end of the dipper and lets the operator change the bucket and other attachments without knocking out pins. Mechanical types are locked with a lever or screw, hydraulic types with a cylinder. The hitch hooks onto the attachment pins and locks them, so changing from one bucket to another takes a few minutes. Cast hitches have a one-piece body, while fabricated types are welded from plate. The lock and hooks are cleaned and greased regularly, as packed mud can stop the lock closing fully. Before leaving the cab, the operator lowers the attachment to the ground.

Fitting
