Backhoe bucket 400 mm CAT, aftermarket

For the Caterpillar backhoe loaders: backhoe bucket 400 mm, an aftermarket part. According to the product card, this part is a backhoe bucket.

The bucket is chosen for the machine model and mounting dimensions: pin diameter, ear spacing and the distance between the mounting points must match the dipper. The bucket's volume and weight must suit the machine's lifting capacity. Once the bucket is fitted, the pins and bushes are greased and the teeth and edge are checked. If cracks or weld damage appear on the bucket body, work is stopped and the bucket repaired. When choosing a bucket, the type of work matters as well as the width: a wide excavation with a narrow bucket needs more cycles, while a wide bucket in hard ground overloads the machine and reduces breakout force. The teeth, edge and side cutters are checked regularly, as a worn cutting edge shortens the life of the bucket body and raises fuel consumption.

Fitting

Fit the bucket on level ground with the machine made safe. Clean and grease the pins and bushes and lock the pins with their retainers. At first start-up, check that the bucket opens and closes fully and does not foul anything.
